Did you know? A lot of sellers describe their products as being hallmarked when it has a '925' stamp on it. Yet this is not a hallmark!
This '925' is a manufacturer's mark and while it should be 925 Sterling Silver, it may not be. We came across ourselves products, that had an '18K' manufacturers mark on it but once tested in a lab, the gold purity was below the minimum needed for it to be sold as 18K gold.
Our advice: Always look out for a genuine UK Hallmark. That way you can rest assured, that your item is indeed Sterling Silver or of the Gold Finess stated, rather than falling victim to fraud.
All articles of precious metals being put up for sale must be hallmarked in the UK! (some exceptions apply).
